Dodson Society
The Dodson Society is named after the late Eugenia J. Dodson who bequeath more than $35 million to Sylvester and the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation at the University of Miami.
As a lung cancer survivor, Mrs. Dodson’s goal was to fund cure-focused cancer research. As a result, Sylvester received one-third of Mrs. Dodson’s estate, and established two endowed chairs in cancer research and an immunotherapy program for the Miller School of Medicine, the Dodson Interdisciplinary Immunotherapy Institute.
Living frugally most of her life in order to fulfill her vision, Mrs. Dodson’s inspiring commitment to cancer research has set a remarkable example of a generous spirit, which will endure for generations.
The Dodson Society recognizes individuals who have made a planned gift to Sylvester and/or made arrangements to include Sylvester in their wills. By joining the Dodson Society, you too can leave a legacy of support to advance cancer research and Sylvester’s search for a cure.
