Directions to UM/Sylvester
Located just minutes from downtown Miami on the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine Campus, UM/Sylvester and the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics (UMHC) are easily accessible from I-95, State Road 836, and public transportation.

UM/Sylvester and the UMHC are located in connecting buildings at 1475 N.W. 12th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136. The UM/Sylvester complex is located on the northeast corner of the N.W. 12th Avenue and N.W. 14th Street intersection.

From I-95, Points North

• Exit I-95 at SR 836 west.
• Exit SR 836 at N.W. 14th Street.
• Turn right onto N.W. 12th Avenue and continue north. UM/Sylvester will be on the right.
• Valet parking is available at center's entrance.

From I-95, Points South and East

• Exit I-95 at SR 836 west.
• Exit SR 836 at N.W. 12th Avenue and turn right onto N.W. 12th Avenue.
• Continue north on N.W. 12th Avenue just past N.W. 14th Street. UM/ Sylvester will be on the right.
• Valet parking is available at center's entrance.

From SR 836, the Airport, and Points West

• Take SR 836 east and take the toll booth exit for N.W. 17th Avenue, north (the Hospitals and Civic Center Exit). The exit will curve around to the left and connect with N.W. 17th Avenue.
• Turn right on N.W. 17th Avenue and cross over the Miami River Bridge. Once over the bridge, take the first right onto N.W. North River Drive.
• Take the first left onto N.W. 13th Terrace until it converts into N.W. 14th Street.
• Turn left onto N.W. 12th Avenue, and UM/Sylvester will be immediately on the right.
• Valet parking is available at cancer center's entrance.

Public Transportation

Located just steps away from the Civic Center Metro Station on N.W. 12th Avenue, UM/Sylvester is conveniently located for those using public transportation. In fact, hundreds of patients, visitors, and employees do it every day.

Bus

For information on bus route schedules and itineraries, call Miami-Dade Transit Information System at 305-770-3131 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Pre-recorded information is available 24 hours a day. Many bus routes travel to UM/Sylvester and the University of Miami Medical Campus. For a detailed map and route information, log on to http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/transit/ and proceed to the section titled Route Maps and Schedules (under the sub-head Metrobus) on the left-hand side of the page. This will allow you to view the various routes that lead to UM/Sylvester. Just look for the Civic Center Station on the map.

Metrorail

Exit Metrorail at the Civic Center Station on N.W. 12th Avenue. UM/Sylvester is south of the Metrorail station at the northeast corner of the N.W. 12th Avenue and N.W. 14th Street intersection. Tri-Rail

Take Tri-Rail to the Metrorail station at 79th Street in Hialeah. Take Metrorail south and exit at the Metrorail Civic Center Station on N.W. 12th Avenue. UM/Sylvester is located at the northeast corner of the N.W. 12th Avenue and N.W. 14th Street intersection. From I-95 (Heading North)

• Take the S.W. 10th Street exit; turn left (west), and go to Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue), which is the first traffic light after I-95.
• Turn left onto Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue).
• Turn left at the first intersection, which is East Newport Center Drive.
• Look for 1192 (third driveway) and turn left.
• UM/Sylvester is in Suite 100 on the ground floor of the large white building.

From I-95 (Heading South)

• Take the S.W. 10th Street exit; turn right (west) and go to Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue), which is the first traffic light after I-95.

• Take the Sawgrass Expressway (869) north.
• The Sawgrass ends and becomes S.W. 10th Street.
• Drive approximately three miles and turn right onto Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue), which is the last traffic light before I-95.
• Turn left at the first intersection, which is East Newport Center Drive.
• Look for 1192 (third driveway) and turn left.
• UM/Sylvester is in Suite 100 on the ground floor of the large white building.

From Lyons Road (Heading North)

• Take the Sawgrass Expressway (869) north. 
• The Sawgrass ends and becomes S.W.10th Street.
• Drive approximately three miles and turn right onto Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue) which is the last traffic light before I-95.
• Take the second left-hand turn, which is East Newport Center Drive.
• Look for 1192 (third driveway) and turn left.
• UM/Sylvester is in Suite 100 on the ground floor of the large white building.

From Lyons Road (Heading South)

• Take the Sawgrass Expressway heading east.
• The Sawgrass ends and becomes S.W. 10th Street.

• Take North Federal Highway to S.E. 10th Street; make a left .
• Turn left onto Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue), which is the first traffic light after I-95.
• Turn left at the first intersection, which is East Newport Center Drive.
• Look for 1192 (third driveway) and turn left.

From South Federal Highway (Heading South)

• Take South Federal Highway to S.E. 10th street; make a right.
• Turn left onto Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue), which is the first traffic light after I-95.
• Turn left at the first intersection, which is East Newport Center Drive.
• Look for 1192 (third driveway) and turn left.

From the Florida Turnpike

• Take the Sample Road Exit (#69), turn right, and travel east.
• Turn left at Military Trail; travel north.
• Turn right at S.W. 10th Street; travel east.
• Turn right onto Newport Center Drive (S.W. 12th Avenue), which is the last traffic light before I-95.
• Turn left at the first intersection, which is East Newport Center Drive.
• Look for 1192 (third driveway) and turn left.
