Breast Cancer

The Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute is recognized in the South Florida medical community as a major academic center for expert breast cancer consultation linked to state-of-the-art research. Our dedicated scientists hold the key to ultimately finding the cure for cancer. That’s why an aggressive campaign is currently underway to recruit additional physician-scientists to the Institute. This expanded team of scientists will help create multidisciplinary programs that offer new options to patients and increase the quality and quantity of the research we do.

Grouped into multidisciplinary research programs, which address important aspects of the cancer challenge, our scientists conduct research in the following areas:

• Biobehavioral Oncology and Cancer Epidemiology
• Molecular Targets and Developmental Therapeutics
• Tumor Immunobiology and Immunotherapy
• Viral Oncology

Clinical Researchers
Clinical research scientists are spearheading clinical trials in breast cancer genetics, prevention, imaging, pre-operative therapy, new surgical techniques, post-surgical chemotherapy and radiation, among other areas.
